Founded in 2003, the Novo Nordisk Media Prize is an international award given to the best print article, the best online article and the best TV feature about diabetes in lay press. The award includes a money prize of 10,000 euros per category.

Contest structure
The Novo Nordisk Media Prize contest is structured in two rounds:

  • National contests: Winners of the national contests automatically qualify for the international contest.
  • International contest: International winners from each of the three categories are announced at an award ceremony in September.

Both the national and international winners are selected by independent panels of judges. Read about previous winners.

Panel of judges

The panels of judges for both the international and national contests consist of journalists and medical professionals totally independent of Novo Nordisk and vary from country to country.
